Are these oversized washers to keep the rim from sliding off? This might be one of those newbie questions.ĥ) Is the torque settings for the Oregon system the same as the original sprocket? I know Oregon sells washers for this system. If I go with the rim sprocket system, which slides to keep in alignent. Anything else should be expected?Ĥ)Other parts needed for this change over. But their parts finder does seem to know the answer.ģ) General change from 8 to 7 tooth would mean I lose top end speed, but gain low end torque. No fault with their answer because it is "vintage" saw. The answer per Oregon was some saws yes some saw no, was not familiar with the saw. Do I need to adjust the number of links in the chain? Original chain and replacement chains for the 8 tooth were 59 and the 7 tooth is the 60. Does anybody know the OD of the race Part number 65746bfor the 7 tooth sprocket?)Ģ) If this setup does work. But seems sloppy with this quick measurement. A quick measurement of the OD of the old 8 tooth race is. (Update per Oregon the 30666x and 11807 are both active parts. Depending on the answer might have to find the 7 tooth race number 65746b. Have requested the Inner ID of their bearing 11807.

I have been in email corresondence with Oregon, but they are not sure. Of course if the oregon setup is to put the bearing on the spline and ignore the race, this might not be an issue. Thus the oregon 7 tooth option may just be replacement option for the original 7 tooth race. The 7 and 8 tooth races have same inside diameter, but different outside diameters, assumtion since different part numbers. Concern different original part numbers, so assume the 7 and 8 tooth sprockets and races have different diameters. So far so good, now my questions and concerns.ġ) Does this bearing go on the race or the spline itself? Kind of defeats purpose of the race. These options require their own bearing as well.

They do offer the Rim sprocket system 30666x or the pro spur 30681x. Oregon does not offer any 8 tooth sprockets.

My question is if I convert this over to some of Oregon's parts. Correct me if I my assumption is in error. I assume that means they are not interchangeable. But the race, bearing, and sprocket part numbers are all different between the options. I assume the spline is the same for all the variances of this years model. One with a drum whose inner diamter of 2 5/8" and one of 3". There seems to be two different sized a63346 sprockets. The parts in issue are the needle bearing 72311 and the sprocket a63346. The saw runs great, but finding the wearable replaceable parts is getting tougher. I have a Homelite Super XL Auto, sn 42253357, 16 inch bar, with the optional 3/8 pitch 8 tooth sprocket part number A63346. They did not substitute a spur sprocket as other retailers tried to do when the Oregon #30666 rim system was no longer available.

Overall a very smooth transaction, a pleasure to work with and I would definitely recommend Lil Red Barn to others.ġ of 1 people found the following review helpful:Īd was for 2-part rim sprocket and drum. I would have scored this 5 starts except Shipping and handling cost seemed a bit excessive for the size and weight of the products. A real human being actually called me back, and was helpful in answering my questions. Good customer support, I called the customer support number and left a message. The product was as described, appears to be good quality, and was shipped quickly.
